Cutler VC interchange

These are a series of photographs of the sculptural aspects of the Cutler VC interchange rebranding commissioned by Transport for NSW (Roads and Maritime) from Studio Colin Polwarth. The rebranding of the interchange coincided with the 2016 commemoration of Roden Cutler VC rest area. The spire on the earthen pyramid of the M7 / M5 interchange is a torch in the dark along Remembrance Drive, the lightweight spire in perforated metal has a LED light inside, the effect at night is a gentle glowing spire. The Cutler VC naming pillar colours are derived from the Victoria Cross and are located at the three points of the triangular interchange. This commission was undertaken in consultation with Remembrance Drive, the Returned Services League, Roads and Martime and Westlink M7.
