Colour sculpture

I was very privileged to be taught at UNSW Art and design by Charlie Sheard, I completed a  year of colour studies with him, each week we explored ideas in the use of colour. This sculptural painting uses pigments, acrylic, oil and three-dimensional forms to explore transparency and opacity in colour across my paint palette. The paint palette included about 42 colours across 3 mediums. The objective is to understand the relationship of pigments to paints and how different mediums and paints have differing transparency characteristics. The colours are arranged in the wheel formation, each medium is represented on a facet of the cubes.
